Are there any mail sending and receiving limits?

Yes, all accounts are subject to limits on sending mail, to prevent abuse of our servers by spammers. The default limits are as follows:
  • Maximum recipients per 10 minutes: 25
  • Maximum recipients per hour: 50
  • Maximum recipients per 6 hours: 100
  • Maximum recipients per day: 200

A recipient is any email address listed in the To, Cc or Bcc headers of the email, or specified via SMTP commands.

While the default limits are ample for most users, we realize that some of our customers might have a legitimate requirement to send larger volumes of mail. We're more than happy to raise the limits to whatever works for you (so long as your use of our SMTP servers complies with our acceptable use policy, essentially: no spam).

There's also a total monthly bandwidth limit for each type of account. If your total bandwidth usage exceeds the limit, you will need to purchase additional bandwidth at the rate of $10 per GB. You can check your bandwidth usage from the "My Neo" section of the site.

I want to send email (non-spam) to a large group of people. How can I do that?

As long as your usage of our servers complies with our acceptable use policy, you can send mail to as many people as you like.

If the default mail sending limits don't accomodate your requirements, and as long as you're sending legitimate mail and not spam or unsolicited commercial mail, we'll be happy to raise your sending recipient limits to whatever works for you. Contact support to get your sending limits raised.

If you expect to be sending mail in larger quantities than the default limits for new accounts allow, it's a good idea to let us know beforehand and have your limits raised. That will prevent your account from being disabled if you go over the default limit.

What's the size of the largest email I can send or receive?

You can send and receive mail of any size, as long as you don't go over your bandwidth or mailbox size limits.
